“My family has always loved being by the coast. When the inlaws came over from Canada we decided to explore Anglesey and walk the coastal path. We found a luxurious guest house in Moelfre with a very warm welcome.
The Anglesey Coastal path is well signposted and the guide book details the fascinating history of this coast. The Roman village at Lligwy, the Stone-Age monuments, the ancient churches and ship-wrecks. The wild fl owers were fantastic and we saw seals and dolphins swimming near to the coast. The weather was good, too, so we had a quick dip in the sea at the end of the walk. We used the buses to access the coastal path but this circular walk was our favourite. It looks complicated but it took us past the lifeboat station, the memorial to the Royal Charter which sank in 1859, the beautiful beach at Lligwy and up Mynydd Bodafon with spectacular views over Anglesey. We rounded off a hard day’s walking with some great bar food at The Ship in Red Wharf Bay. Anne’s Pantry by the sea in Moelfre does a really great sea bass, too. Considering we stayed in a 4 star B&B the whole weekend was very reasonably priced.”
